Q. I can live anywhere I’d like, and the quality of life in my community is important to me. What makes Brunswick a community of choice for retirees like myself?
A.The Bath/Brunswick area offers the best of many worlds. It’s an intimate, comfortable community, where crime is virtually non-existent. It’s surrounded by Maine’s legendary forests and is adjacent to the ocean. At the same time, it enjoys the vitality that comes with being a college community. Nearby air, rail, and ferry transportation options are convenient and reliable. Sunnybrook is just minutes from the famed shopping Mecca of Freeport, home of L.L. Bean; and the city of Portland, Maine’s business and cultural center. In fact, Money Magazine twice named Brunswick one of the top five retirement communities in the United States, first in 2000 and again in 2005.
Q. Can I have a car at Sunnybrook?
A. Yes, by all means! We have a parking lot for residents, and in the winter months, we dig out, clean off, warm up, and bring your car around to the front door when you're ready for it!
